Music as a space for discovery, expression, and belonging
I see music education as an invitation to explore who we are, how we relate to others, and what we can imagine together. Across classrooms, workshops, and international gatherings, my work encourages curiosity, creative expression, and openness to the unknown. Through music, we learn to listen, make space for different perspectives, and discover possibilities within ourselves and our communities.
My approach
Every voice has something to contribute
My teaching begins with the belief that everyone has the capacity to participate in meaningful musical experiences. Through singing, movement, listening, and improvisation, participants explore musical ideas while building confidence and relationships.
I create spaces where curiosity is welcome, mistakes can lead to discovery, and learning grows through shared experience. My work connects artistic practice with research on circle singing, community, and belonging—from K–8 classrooms to higher education and professional development.
Circle Singing & Vocal Improvisation
Explore how spontaneous vocal patterns become shared musical creations. Through accessible activities, participants practice listening, layering, responding, and taking turns leading the group.
Participatory Music-Making in the Classroom
Discover practical ways to bring collaborative music-making into teaching. Explore activities that encourage student agency, welcome different levels of experience, and support musical learning through participation.
Facilitation, Community & Belonging
Explore the human side of leading musical experiences: building trust, inviting participation, responding to the group, and balancing guidance with space for discovery.
